"An Afternoon Affair" hosted by The Southern Nevada Public Television Board of Directors
Vegas PBS celebrated their dedicated volunteers on April 23, 2014, with a special luncheon sponsored by The Southern Nevada Public Television Board of Directors. Invitations were sent to volunteers, to the SNPT Board and to Council Members. It was indeed an affair to remember!
Eighty guests enjoyed a lovely luncheon and received a gift bag with logoed "Splendor In The Glass 25th Anniversary" wine glasses with a split of Martinelli Cider and a Vegas PBS Notebook imprinted in Silver.
The master of ceremonies greeted guests and introduced the President of the SNPT Board who welcomed guests and spoke about the variety of jobs performed by volunteers at Vegas PBS. The emphasis was placed on the success of Vegas PBS thanks to its volunteers.
The opening remarks were followed by a luncheon served by the catering staff. Ted Steves, a Dean Martin impressionist, was next on the agenda. He mesmerized guests by singing some of Dean Martin's standards while faking imbibing whiskey (water). Mr. Steves was presented with a gift of appreciation for his performance.
Next up was a member of the "Wednesday Volunteers" who read a poem she wrote about volunteering. The Assistant Volunteer Specialist also addressed the audience thanking them for their wonderful dedication to Vegas PBS while acknowledging how appreciated and needed all volunteers are to Vegas PBS.
