Since 1993, Rocky Mountain PBS (Denver) has hosted an annual event to celebrate and honor their volunteers for their cumulative volunteer hours. Volunteer hours have been electronically recorded since 1990.

RMPBS volunteers have recently been feted at an evening "Volunteer Milestone Awards" event hosted by the Volunteer Board and the staff of Rocky Mountain PBS. Volunteers are recognized for a variety of hour levels ranging from 100 hours up to 10,000+ hours. The top honor goes to "Summit Award Recipients" who've given 10,000 or more hours of volunteer time to Rocky Mountain PBS throughout their volunteer careers.

"2014 Volunteer Milestone Awards"
Rocky Mountain PBS
On April 4, 2014, Rocky Mountain PBS staff and volunteers attended the annual reception to honor volunteers who had reached various hourly milestones. The reception was held at the Rocky Mountain PBS studios. The event opened with food, beverages and jazz from KUVO radio playing in the background.
Susan Barber, RMPBS Special Events/Volunteer Coordinator, welcomed the attendees and introduced Pat Loewi, member of the RMPBS Governing Board. After Pat's comments about the importance of volunteers, Rocky Mountain PBS President and CEO, Doug Price, warmly thanked all volunteers for their continuing hard work.
Awards were presented by the Volunteer Board of Directors' Executive Team: Betty Flaten (President), Sandy Gerulat (Secretary) and Jeanne Sanchez (Vice President). Forty volunteers were recognized for having reached milestones ranging from 100 to 7,000 cumulative hours. Past "Summit Award" recipients, 10,000 or more hours, were also recognized.
For the first time, KUVO radio (a welcome addition to the Rocky Mountain PBS family since 2013) participated in the volunteer recognition event. Tina Cartagena (KUVO Chief Development Officer) and Arturo Gomez (Music Director) recognized several of KUVO's outstanding volunteers.
Congratulations to all of the 2014 Milestone Award recipients of Rocky Mountain PBS.
