The May 1 push by PROTECT MY PUBLIC MEDIA asking public media fans to put on their sweaters to honor the anniversary of Mister Rogers' historic testimony before Congress that restored and increased federal funding for public media worked!!


PROTECT MY PUBLIC MEDIA announced on May 7, 2015 that "federal funding for public media has been restored in the final Budget Resolution.  Next, Congress will begin writing their spending bills based on the final Budget Resolution.

This was a major victory for public media.  Thousands of congressional office phones rang and congressional inboxes were filled with support for public radio and television.  Lawmakers heard clearly that public media funding matters!  Many thanks to the public media viewers and listeners who showed their support!!
