THE HOUSE AND SENATE PASS BUDGET RESOLUTIONS
March 25-26, 2015
On Wednesday, March 25, 2015, the United States House of Representatives passed its Budget Resolution. The language of the report accompanying the House Budget Resolution recommends eliminating funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). Additionally, the house Budget Resolution does not provide for 2-year advance funding for CPB. This is disappointing, but the House has included similar language in budget proposals for the last four years.
On March 26, the Senate passed its Budget Resolution. The Senate Budget Resolution provides for the CPB 2-year advance funding. The House and Senate now will try to agree on a final budget resolution which is agreed upon by both chambers.
