A Federal Funding Update from Michael Riksen at NPR
Last week, a House Appropriations Subcommittee included $445 million for public broadcasting for FY 2018 as part of its spending decisions for the coming fiscal year.
This week, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee with jurisdiction over public broadcasting followed suit by also recommending $445 million for FY 108. These actions put in place expected approval later this week by the full House and Senate Appropriations Committees of the continuation of public broadcasting's two-year advance with these decisions to include $445 million.
Members of the Senate and Subcommittee also included $25.7 million for Ready To Learn, an essential public television program.
