On July 15, 2013, Protect My Public Media online campaign (formerly 170 Million Americans for Public Broadcasting) went live. The launch of the website has received an enormously positive response! In its first week, the site had nearly 20,000 page views.
Check out their website!
National Friends of Public Broadcasting is a proud partner of the online campaign. Protect My Public Media is a partnership of more than 400 public television and radio stations throughout the country, national organizations, producer and more . . . the millions of Americans that are served by public media every day.
The new site is interactive and action-oriented. It encourages public media supporters to write their members of Congress to tell them why public media is so important.
On their website, you can easily stand up for your local station and tell your story of why public media matters to YOU. Check out their blog that gives you an inside look of what's happening in public media.
And, visit the site on your tablet or phone, where you can access a mobile-optimized site that looks just as great as the one on your desktop.
If you've already signed up to receive emails by following 170 Million Americans, you have been seamlessly transitioned to the new social media platforms. Have you joined the campaign on Facebook or Twitter? Help them spread the word about the new campaign by using your social networks on Facebook or Twitter!
As funding bills start being debated in Washington, it will be critical that supporters of public media stand up for local stations and programs that they love. Every voice counts and makes a difference. Let YOUR voice be heard!!
