AMANDA GORDON, Volunteer Specialist for Vegas PBS
National Friends of Public Broadcasting elected a new Trustee on January 25, 2016 -- AMANDA GORDON of Vegas PBS.
Amanda joined Vegas PBS in 2014 as their Volunteer Specialist where she is responsible for managing and coordinating a volunteer base of approximately 150 individual volunteers in addition to corporate and group volunteers. She is skilled in all aspects of volunteer management and eager to share that knowledge to support and strengthen other public media entities to either create or expand a thriving volunteer department.
Amanda volunteers regularly with the Las Vegas Rotary Club and the Salvation Army of Southern Nevada. She is a member of the Junior League of Las Vegas and has served as a committee chair for two years.
Amanda is interested in serving as a trustee for National Friends because she believes in expanding the awareness, engagement and inclusion of volunteers within public media.
To quote Amanda:
"I am interested in serving in this unique leadership role because I find that the best way we can learn is to collaborate with one another. By sharing strengths, hang-ups, areas of growth, frustrations and ways to effectively overcome a myriad of situations we not only make ourselves and our volunteers stronger, but we also enhance our public media stations and the overall public broadcasting system as a whole."
Welcome, Amanda! You will be a tremendous asset to the National Friends' Board of Trustees.
