SHARON ROEHM is the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Sharon is from WCET in Cincinnati, Ohio and was nominated by Dan Verzi.
Sharon became involved with WCET as a volunteer for their "Action Auction" because of her husband, Chris. Chris continues to take a week's vacation to be a part of the excitement of Action Auction! Sharon is WCET's full time volunteer, "Volunteer Coordinator." She has worked 40 hours a week for the past 14 years, after taking an early retirement as a registered nurse for older homecare patients. She volunteered a few more hours a week before and after |
auction and that pattern evolved into volunteering a couple of weeks a month, then into volunteering every day, every month and now as a 40-hour a week volunteer! Sharon does many things such as data entry, soliciting donations and picking up items for the auction as well as recruiting and securing volunteers for pledge drives. In her private life, she helps with her Mother as well as checking in with her five children and her nine grandchildren. Dan ended the nomination saying, "Sharon is all about family and we are so fortunate that she is a part of ours!"
Congratulations, Sharon Roehm of WCET. |
