Rachel Dyal is one of those rare gems of a volunteer, unselfish and extremely devoted. She can be found late at night or on weekends, sorting mail, entering pledges, or trying to keep up with the staggering cycle of donations and member inquiries. She is skilled in the intricacies of the membership data system, and helps with fund drives by often working more than 40 hours a week. Her effectiveness at the station is unquestionable as she performs in a manner consistent with a full-time professional.
In 1992, Rachel was honored by the Retired Senior Volunteers Program for over 500 hours of service. The larger portion of the hours volunteered were at WILL.
In addition to her work at the station, she is one of public broadcasting's most fervent advocates. Rachel is well-versed and vocal in supporting its continued existence. She possess a rare wit, incisive mind and a very endearing earth-bound quality. Rachel is most deserving of this prestigious award.
