Laura Sampson has been an active KRMA volunteer since 1974 when she served as an Auction Go-Getter. She showed enthusiasm, thoroughness and commitment. After eighteen years, these skills are finely tuned and she is unquestionably effective. She now has accepted a third term as President of KRMA's Volunteer Board. This is a position she manages with dedication, friendliness and professionalism.
As Volunteer Board President, Laura oversees more then 3,000 Channel Six volunteers who participate in fundraising, station promotion, outreach, grassroots lobbying and station-based activities. These volunteers documented more than 42,000 hours of volunteer time in FY 1992-1993. Unable to ask others to put in time if she does not, Laura gave in excess of 900 hours in FY 92-93. She oversaw volunteer activities which touched thousands of people and raised more than $1.4 million. Laura is intuitive and sensitive in her ability to handle volunteer concerns, problems and issues. With her strong volunteer history and outstanding capabilities, Laura is an exceptional advocate for Channel Six and public broadcasting. |
